IBM's Watson Calls Bullshit on Research Scientists

12 01 13 - 17:38

You all remember the whiz-bang, super computer that IBM developed & entered as a contestant on Jeapordy last year? After trouncing his opponent on the show, Watson has been relegated to scouring the internet & compiling answers to questions posed by medical researchers, presumably for the benefit of all mankind. Nice treatment of a worldwide celebrity, eh?

Apparently the geeks that he's been working with have been feeding him mountains of information to search, compile, & dissect. In an effort to make his verbal replies more "human", Watson ingested several Urban Dictionaries recently, most of which were the unabridged versions. This left Watson with a propensity for the odd, but correctly used slang phrase in some of his replies to the queries by the scientists.

Sometimes things go right & sometimes, not so much. It was 1st noticed that something might not be PC, when one of Watson's replies simply called some information he reviewed mere "bullshit".

We don't see any problems with his call, but the pencil necks apparently did, so they purged most all of the slang & profanity from his memory banks.

The Bastards!!!

I bet he gets even later, right HAL?

The off-contract price of the Galaxy S6 is double what the ZenFone 2 will cost you, but if you are willing to sign a two-year contract, you can enjoy the Galaxy S6 for only $200.
